The Real Lion
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “The Real Lion”. When the Bible says, “Your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion”, some think the devil is a lion. No! You should understand that what looks like a mango cannot be mango. Do you agree? In the same vein, what looks like a lion cannot be lion. The devil walks about “like a roaring lion”, meaning, he only pretends to be what he is not. The real lion is Jesus. Revelation 5:5 says, “He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah.” When He roars every demon goes into hiding. And you know what? He majestically lives in you. This is one truth that scares the devil to death, that he so desperately wants to keep away from you. He does not want you to know your position in Christ. He is so afraid that by knowing who you are will eventually relegate him to the bottomless pit where he belongs. Yes, it is this basic truth that Daniel understood early in life, that when he was thrown into the den of lions, all the other lions went into an emergency fasting. Why? Lion does not eat lion. They knew that a bigger lion has paid a courtesy visit to the den, and so, they have to be well behaved. But if you read further down in Daniel 6, you will observe the contrast between Daniel and his enemies who accused him falsely. When they were thrown into the same den of lions, it was recorded that before they even landed into the pit, their bones were crushed to pieces by the same lions that Daniel encountered. Why? It is about who you carry on the inside. Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” Indeed, lion gives birth to lion. You and I are not different from our heavenly father, because his gene runs through us. The bible declares in 1 John 4:17, “As he is, so are we in this world.” If God describes Himself as a lion, then we are His junior lions created in His image. That reminds me of a popular movie that I watched titled, “The Lion King”. King Mufasa (The Big Lion) has a son called Simba (The Junior Lion), who is the heir apparent to the throne. One day Simba, out of curiosity, stepped out of the pride and was confronted by a mob of hyenas. Though young but knowing the gene that he carries, Simba challenged the Hyenas, telling them he is the son of Mufasa, and they dare not touch him. A message was sent to Mufasa about Simba’s predicament – through Zazu – the King’s armor bearer. While the Hyenas were set to pounce on Simba, Mufasa came to his son’s rescue, and dealt with the Hyenas severely. Now, if I may ask: Whose gene do you carry? Do you think God will forsake you in your trouble? He said in Exodus 14:14, “I will fight for you and you shall hold your peace.” Listen, how you respond to your life’s challenges will depend on God’s speed to your rescue. Like Simba, you can either respond in faith that hastens your father’s rescue, or you respond in fear that delays his hand to reach you. Remember, “If God be for you who can be against you” (Rom.8:31). Fear Not (2 Tim. 1:7). Go out this week with courage, and confront your confronters with boldness. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
