STAYING FOCUSED

Friends, greetings in Name of Jesus! I hope you are already flying on higher grounds toward fulfilling your aspirations for 2021. Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “STAYING FOCUSED”. My major prayer request for 2021 was, “Lord, keep me focused this year”. To get ahead in achieving anything in life, we need Total Focus. To be focused means “Directing a great deal of attention, interest, or activity towards a particular aim.” In other words, not staying focused means getting “distracted”. Today, there are too many things causing us to be distracted. And we all know that no meaningful thing can be achieved when you get distracted. For an instance, no athlete can achieve a gold medal by running and looking back at the same time. As the saying goes, “you can do anything but you cannot do everything at the same time.” To be truly successful at anything, you must be able to focus your entire thought upon the idea you are working on. Whenever you have a divided attention, it becomes impossible to set your face steadily toward the work required of you. That reminds me of the story of Jesus and Martha. “Now it happened as they went that Jesus entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me. And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:38-42). In 2021 you have to stay focused on that one thing that is “needful”. When you focus on something, your “mind and will” naturally comes to alignment or agreement in what you target or aim to achieve. In Philippians 3:13, Apostle Paul said, “This one thing I do”. What is that one thing that you will do this year? You can’t afford to be doing everything at the same time. If you do, you will be like the proverbial hunter trying to aim two birds at the same time with one stone. In fact, you know what the outcome will be. Hitting the target will be nearly impossible because both birds will fly away. This year you must learn to do one thing at a time. If it is only one thing that the Lord lays in your heart to achieve this year, then pursue it with all your heart, with all diligence, and complete it. I see you shinning forth and doing exploits in 2021. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
