Mental Prosperity
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Mental Prosperity”. Apostle John wrote in 3 John 2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” Really, the soul of man is his personality. What goes in there, determines largely to what happens in his life. The soul comprises the mind, will, and emotion. To this effect, it becomes imperative that we guard what goes “in or out” of our soul. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” It can only take a prosperous soul – not a poor soul – to judge what is right and acceptable will of God. A prosperous soul is trained to align and adapt to the word of God; but a poor soul is deficient of the word, still being ruled and controlled by the dictates of the flesh. There is a saying, “Change your thinking, and your life will change”. A lot of people have been caged by their mindset. You see, what you think you attract; and what you attract you become. It is called the law of attraction. “As a man thinks so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). The devil knows it so well, and for that, he capitalizes on it to enslave so many people, including Christians. Sicknesses such as – depression, anxiety, worry, and confusion – are all mental states. As long as you live, just know that your physical prosperity is tied to your mental prosperity. Listen, your mental state, which is a bye product of your spiritual state, determines your physical status – either rich or poor. A poor mindset is blind without foresight. It’s so destructive and suspicious of everyone around them, even to those God has assigned and positioned to help them. One major thing you should never allow to happen to you is to have a poor mental state. A state where your mind can never imagine anything good coming to fruition; a state of mind where doubts and impossibility have free rein. Such a poor mindset can never translate to physical prosperity. If all that goes through your mind is, “people don’t like me, all my efforts yield nothing, my life is full of struggles, doors keep closing against me, I am getting old and time is working against me, the year is over and I have achieved nothing, and so on”, then you will have what you think and imagine. But if on the other hand, you portray a positive mindset at all times, you believe all things are working together for your good, and that God is with you and will never fail you; then all things will become possible unto you. As someone once said, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve”. Meaning, either way – positive or negative – conception in your heart will always manifest or come to pass. I have seen people who were down to nothing but rich in their mind, and sooner than later, they bounced back real big with so much success. Why? Mindset! Therefore, the choice is yours to either lean towards a prosperous mindset or lean towards poor destructive mindset that yields nothing but retrogression. Remember, your thought pattern is your life. If the enemy can get you in the area of your thinking, then he has gotten your life. This is an area the devil has so perfected and mastered over thousands of years ago, right from the garden of Eden. He worked on the mindset of Eve, and got her deceived along with Adam to eat the forbidden fruit. If I may ask: What’s going on in your mind right now? Is your soul prospering? Does what is going on in your mind engender prosperity or poverty. If God should display to the world on screen what’s going on in your mind right now, will you be embarrassed or be happy with yourself? You see, only you can answer these questions. Your life either move – forward or backward, up or down – by what goes on in your mind. You can’t rise above the level of your thoughts. We saw that by the twelve spies who were sent by Moses to search out the Promise Land that God promised the children of Israel. When they got there, they saw giants in the land and became afraid. Ten of the spies said they are not able to take over the land, but two spies – Caleb and Joshua – said they are well able to possess it. Why? They had a different mentality. You know what? All the ten spies who imagined and confessed negatively never saw the promised land, except Caleb and Joshua (Numbers 13). As you go this week, be determined to change your thinking, by thinking productive thoughts that will lift you high in life. Never forget, to have a renewed and prosperous soul, it is a must – not an option – to feed daily on the word of God (Joshua 1:8, John 8:31-32, Psalm 119:9). Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
