Aligning With God’s Purpose For Your Life

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Aligning With God’s Purpose For Your Life”. Your first major assignment on earth is to discover your purpose in life. You must know why you were born. You would have cheated yourself to live and die without knowing the “why” for your existence. Really, you can’t succeed in life without discovering and fulfilling your purpose. Every human being you see moving on the surface of the earth is carrying one great assignment or the other assigned to them by God to fulfill before they die. No one is without a purpose or destiny in life. The challenge is whether you discover it or not. While others live their life to the fullest – by aligning with God’s purpose for their lives – others live in frustration not knowing why they exist.

What beautifies a man is not money, even though money is good and important. There are many frustrated and dissatisfied rich people. In fact, you may have a huge sum of money, but if you lack the purpose for it, it will simply grow wings and fly away. What changes a man from nobody to somebody is when he knows and understands his purpose on earth. Discovering your purpose is greater than money. It is like winning a jackpot. When you know who you are, you become dangerous. Why? It’s because you realize you have a mission to accomplish. And Satan hates it. He wants you to remain in perpetual bondage of ignorance without knowing who you are or what you possess. This is the more reason why you cannot afford to live an average life. You are called to live an abundant life. While teaching his disciples, Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Who is the thief here? It’s the devil! He is always out to steal your joy, peace, and rob you of fulfilling your purpose in life.

What is purpose? It simply means your reason for being. Purpose is your “why” for existence. A man’s struggles of making wrong choices in life ends the day he realizes his “why” for living. A life of confusion – I don’t know what to do, I don’t know which way to go, should I stay in Nigeria or run abroad – is a life lacking bearing or purpose. What keeps you going in the midst of – trials, recession, and challenges of life – is when you stay on course in the direction that God has set before you. Therefore, it does not matter the heat you experience on the way, as long as you are on course in the right direction, you just keep going. Those trials become your stepping stones to fulfilling your destiny. But when you lack the knowledge of your purpose, every challenge you face crushes your spirit, de-motivates you, causes you to lose hope, and then pushes you into making wrong choices that hinders you from fulfilling your purpose.

Now, how then do you discover your purpose in life? It’s simple! Just have an encounter with God. The moment I gave my life to Jesus over 20 years ago, my life changed and took a new turn. Really, I became a brand new man. “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Cor. 5:17). Personally, my understanding changed, as well as my desires, and outlook about life. I discovered that I am no longer one who lives, but Christ lives in me. As I daily spend time with the Lord, He began to unfold certain things about my life to me. My life decisions changed from guess work – to real intentional decisions – that draws me closer to God’s plan and purpose for my life. Therefore, I challenge you today to completely surrender your life to Jesus, and let Him redefine you, and reveal your purpose to you. If you do, your life will take a 360 degree turn; and what causes others to stumble and fail in life will be far from you. Really, I am living my best life knowing Christ. Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
