The Leader After God’s Heart

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “The Leader After God’s Heart”. The bible declares in Ezekiel 22:30, “I sought for a man among them, who should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.”

The question is: Why will God be searching for a man when men are everywhere? You see, God wants to pour out Himself on mankind. But He has a standard. Unfortunately, He can’t pour out His glory unto a corrupted vessel. “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him” (2 Chron. 16:9). God is selective and mindful about the vessel He wants to use to accomplish His purpose. Really, when God looks down from heaven, it is His utmost desire to behold His express image in us, not the devil.

Therefore, the onus is on us to present ourselves worthy before Him to meet for His use. The book of 2 Timothy 2:20-21 says, “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”

From the above scripture, we can deduce that God wants the best from our lives. He wants you to be a vessel for honour not dishonour. Hence – the choice is yours not His – regarding which vessel you become. If you want to be a leader after God’s heart – a vessel of honour – there are certain qualities you must possess that will differentiate you from others. By next week, we shall be examining these qualities that mark a leader after God’s heart. Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
