Trust in the Lord

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Trust in the Lord”. As humans, we are so quick to rely on what we see than what we cannot see. The fact that God is Spirit does not mean He is far from reality. Even though you may not see Him physically, He is as real as a close friend talking to you. And when He says, “Trust in Me and believe my words to come through in your situation”, you better believe it. The Lord is ever ready to meet our needs, but also interested in knowing where our trust lies – either in Him or ourselves – or possibly in others. God wants us to put our complete trust in Him. The bible declares in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.”

Our God is well able to accomplish exceedingly above anything we ask or think. Simply because your prayer request unto God has not been answered does not mean God has forgotten you. He has you at the top of His agenda. Remember, His ways are not our ways. He knows the best timing for everything. The worst thing anybody can do is to go against God’s wish by trusting in his or her strength to get things done. The devil is so wicked. Usually, at the very moment God is about to answer your prayers, that is when Satan put more pressure on you to go against God’s plan for your life. Really, “For by strength shall no man prevail” (1 Samuel 2:9).

Last week I was watching a very interesting Christian movie on DoveTV. In that movie, there was a Christian couple that had been trusting God for the fruit of the womb. They had been married for nearly ten years without a child. Many suggestions as to what to do to have children were offered to them. But being devoted believers in Christ, they turned down many of such offers as they did not want to do anything outside the will of God. You know some mother in-laws have a way of putting pressure on their sons to get another wife, should their daughter in-law be unable to bear children. So the mother in-law attacked her son’s wife on several occasions with bad words that could make anyone go insane. Fortunately, the Lord gave a word to the husband telling him that, He will bless them with a baby boy by their tenth year marriage anniversary. He rejoiced and broke the news to his wife. By this time, his wife was already giving up hope. Someone had already told her about a prophet in town that could pray for her by giving her some concoction to drink, and she will get pregnant as quickly as possible. While having a discussion with her husband, she gave insight to him about taking a concoction that is very potent in aiding child bearing. The husband shunned her immediately, and warned her sternly to not try it, but rather rejoice as the Lord had promised to bless them with a son. Unfortunately, she did not heed her husband’s advice. She went secretly to see the prophet. Unknown to her, she was already five weeks pregnant at that time. When she arrived to see the prophet, the demonic spirit operating at that evil altar, told the prophet that the woman is already pregnant but unknown to her. Then the spirit instructed the prophet to give her a poisonous concoction that would terminate the pregnancy, as the baby in her womb is called of God to do damage to their kingdom. This was how the woman drank the concoction and she fainted afterwards, and she was rushed to the hospital, only for her to realize that she had lost her five weeks pregnancy, including her womb.

Isn’t this story become the sad situation for many believers today, who at the verge of their breakthrough missed their blessings simply because they lost hope in God, at the time God was nearest to them. Listen, the word of God can never fail. If God has said it, He will do it (Isaiah 55:11); if He has promised, He will fulfill it (1 Thes. 5:24). He is ever faithful. Really, it is us that are unfaithful. Remember, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD…Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters” (Jeremiah 17:5-8). Never give up on God. He is never too late or too early…but be sure He will always be right there on time. Just give Him praise in that situation you are facing right now. Trust Him, and He will see you through in Jesus Name! Have a blessed week. With love, Elvis!
