Unleashing your Potential

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Unleashing your Potential”. Let me begin by saying emphatically, that the life you have is a precious gift from God, and what you do with your life is your gift back to Him. Indeed, life is a gift to cherish. You are here on this earth to fulfill one “Major Definite Purpose.” The scripture said, “For this purpose was the son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8). It didn’t say for “these purposes”. Listen, if you do a thousand things but fail to do the one thing you were born to do, you will not fulfill your purpose in life. Your purpose and potential are tied together. That means you cannot fulfill your purpose without Unleashing your Potential. What then does it mean to UNLEASH? To unleash means to free; to let go or to release from dormancy. Dormant in every one of us are great potentials waiting to be released to the world. The truth is whether you are aware of it or not, it is right there inside you. We are all gifted in one thing or the other. These gifts and talents are wrapped in a package called potential. There is something terrific about you as an individual. You know why? By nature you are unique, valuable, and priceless. You have a quota to contribute to the well-being of your generation and to those yet unborn. No amount of money can be placed on your worth. You’re highly invaluable! Hear me clearly; you are an original, not a copy. Your fingerprint is different from everyone else. There is no one exactly like you in the whole world. Isn’t that an interesting fact? Amongst over seven billion people on earth, there is no one exactly like you. What does that tell you? You are special! You cannot afford to be like anyone else. You are wonderfully and fearfully made by God to carry out a unique assignment here on earth (Psalm 139:14). Fulfilling this assignment is dependent upon unleashing your potential. It will be a life cheated on oneself to live without utilizing his or her potential. Buried inside you is a gold mine waiting eagerly to be tapped. You may wonder, a gold mine inside me? Of course! There is an endowment deposited in your life by your creator. All these endowments are targeted towards helping you fulfill your destiny. And it is your responsibility to unleash them. The most surprising thing about potential is that it remains with you until death. In the grave lie potentials that have been wasted. The richest place on earth is not the diamond depot in Zaire or gold mine in South Africa, but in the cemetery. There you see people who had died and never utilized their God-given talents. Just ask yourself: What am I doing with the talents that God has given me? Don’t die ordinary! You’re loaded! God fortified you from birth with special gifts and talents to deploy into use for His glory here on earth. As janitors of our own destiny here on earth, we are depriving ourselves if we don’t go the extra mile and do everything we possibly can to manifest the potential lying within us. You must never be comfortable living below what you were designed to be. The only acceptable gift we can give back to God in appreciation of the life He has given us is to make sure that we utilize all the talents that He placed within us. “To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey” (Matt.25:15). God expects each and every one of us to deploy and utilize the talents He has endowed in us. Failure to do so attracts consequences. No wonder He will say to some of us when we appear before Him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into joy of your Lord” (Matthew 25:21; 23). As someone said, “Death refers directly to the Parable of the Talents when he demands from everyman his reckoning or account book. Everyman must tell God how he has spent his life and in what wise”. So, you have no excuse whatsoever to live and die without unleashing your potential. The onus is on every individual to discover his or her potential and unleash it. Yes, you can if you Believe! “For with God Nothing shall be IMPOSSIBLE” (Luke 1:37). Remember, “All things are yours” (1 Cor. 3:21); and “All things are POSSIBLE to him that Believes” (Mark 9:23). Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
